Love creative photography? Come along to our Easter 2017 school holiday photography workshops and find out more about the creative aspects of photography (with just enough of the technical to ensure you know how to get the shots you want). You'll also get a print of your best photo of the day.
This workshop is for phone photographers and is suitable for iPhone and Android. (click here to see our workshop for DSLR photographers)
$95 9.00am - 3.00pm pdf notes included
We begin the workshop with a brief (but not boring, we promise!) introduction to the technical side of photography - f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, metering, colour temperatures and anything else we can squeeze in. Not all phone cameras have these settings, so we also look at apps you can use to control these settings. You will learn which camera settings work for which shooting situations.
Then we cover the artistic side of image-making. We introduce the concepts of perception and sight, composition, story-telling and narrative, and elements of design such as line, colour and balance - with the emphasis on having lots of fun.
The day wraps with an intro to editing and printing and you will leave with a print of your best photo from the day.
Skill level: suitable for all.
Equipment required: phone (iPhone or Android), Snapseed (free photography editing app)
Info for parents: the studio will be open from 8.30am and you are welcome to come in and have a coffee with the fotografica tutors before the day starts. All fotografica tutors are registered Blue Card holders.
We ask that workshop participants byo lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, hat, closed-in shoes (to be worn when shooting outdoors). There is a fridge onsite if needed. We will provide a basic morning tea of biscuits and juice/water, please advise if your child/children are gluten free.
Our venue does not have space to accommodate parents who wish to stay for the workshop, except in special circumstances.

A number of the exercises in this workshop may be held outdoors. Please note that Studio 357 is an air-conditioned all-weather venue so if we are unable to shoot outside we have numerous opportunities to shoot inside.
