explore your creativity through photography

Every photograph we take is an expression of ourselves. At fotografica we embrace that and help you explore your own creativity through photography.

In all our photography workshops we place equal weight on the technical and creative aspects of the craft. You'll learn how to use your camera to express your creative ideas.

fotografica runs photography workshops in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

We offer a variety of workshops and more recently have added classes specifically for phone-photographers as well a completely new workshop, conceptual photography. Get your ideas on!

In Brisbane our workshops are held at Studio 357, Stones Corner or on location. Our Gold Coast workshops run from our purpose-built studio in Burleigh Heads (currently being extended, workshops will recommence in June).

Every workshop you attend gives you free access to a follow-up image critique session, ensuring you get feedback on your work.

Ian's previous life as an advertising/commercial photographer and a lecturer at Griffith University and the Queensland University of Technology gives him a solid basis from which to critique, assess, assist and motivate. Ian runs our portfolio reviews, gallery talks and provides input into all fotografica content.

This recent photograph of Ian is presented here in all its gloriously warm tones, a nod to Ian's connection with the early days of the medium. Just kidding (we promise he's not that old)! We loved this portrait and it speaks of Ian's capacity to always offer an alternative interpretation.
